21 Haitian Nationals Convicted Of Overstaying In The Magistrates Court

On today’s date, twenty-one Haitian nationals, comprising twelve (12) males and nine (9) females, appeared in Magistrate’s Court No. 8 before Senior Magistrate Aniska Isaacs on charges of Overstaying. All pleaded guilty and were subsequently convicted.

 Godson Desronvil, also known as Stevens Desronvil (M) – Fined $2,500.00 or, in default of payment, to serve 12 months at the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services (BDOCS).
 Jaccine Das (F) – Fined $1,500.00 or, in default, to serve 8 months at BDOCS.
 John Fredly Dezinor (M) – Fined $1,300.00 or, in default, to serve 8 months at BDOCS.
 Djoulie Pierre (F) and Dorius F. Dormeris (F) – Fined $1,200.00 each or, in default, to serve 8 months at BDOCS.
 Maudelene Casseus (F), Roselande Bernadotte (F) and Widmailet Idame (M) – Fined $1,000.00 each or, in default, to serve 7 months at BDOCS.
 Vanessa Seide, also known as Stacey Pierre (F) – Fined $900.00 or, in default, to serve 4 months at BDOCS.
 Enide Orvil (F) and Wilmide Jean (F) – Fined $800.00 each or, in default, to serve 4 months at BDOCS.
 Josnel Tassy (F), Erold Paul (M), Renan Celestin (M) and Benjy-Love Jean Francios (M) – Fined $700.00 each or, in default, to serve 3 months at BDOCS.
 Masley Vital (M), Richardson Vital (M), Hervens Saint-Victor (M), Enaisse Mertilus (M) and Thamara Petit, also known as Carmel Petit (F) – Fined $500.00 each or, in default, to serve 3
months at BDOCS.
 Jean Danord Belizaire (M) – Fined $300.00 or, in default of payment, to serve 4 months at BDOCS.

All individuals were ordered to be handed over to the Department of Immigration for deportation upon
payment of fines or completion of sentences. The Department remains committed to upholding the laws
