A graduation ceremony was held on the island of Grand Bahama for 96 Royal Bahamas Police Force recruits this week.
The keynote address was delivered by Minister of National Security, the Hon. Wayne Munroe who spoke with reporters on the sidelines of the event. He said, “the recruits have been taught that science of being a policeman but that’s not all it takes. It takes being at one with the community, respecting persons. It also spoke as to the families and the support they give the police officers and the poem speaks about the need to be steadfast and show integrity and if you do all of that then you will keep you name.”
Commissioner of Police, Clayton Fernander was also on hand for the ceremony. He shared his pleasure at received the Grand Bahama graduates and revealed that another graduation will be held in Nassau on Friday.
The graduates paraded in uniform displaying their formation abilities and drills for the government officials and family members assembled. Officer in Charge of the Northern Bahamas, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Shanta Knowles said, “I’m truly excited to have been given the opportunity to train 96 new officers of the Royal Bahamas Police Force. It’s been a grueling six month of training but I’m pleased to present these 96 to the people of The Bahamas.”
Minister for Grand Bahama, the Hon. Ginger Moxey shared it was a great day for Grand Bahama.
