The Minister of Works, the Hon. Alfred Sears along with the Minister and Minister of State for Education and Technical and Vocational Training, the Hon. Glenys Hanna Martin and the Hon. Zane Lightbourne respectively, visited the site of the school in Holmes Rock, Grand Bahama which is currently under construction.

Hanna-Martin said, “this is a beautiful facility. It can house, I told, up to 800 students. It has art room. It has labs, basketball court, extensive parking and the air flow is fantastic especially on the upper floors.”

On the expected date for opening the Minister said, “we’re feeling good. We would have liked to have completed by now but the work is underway, its steady, the end is in site.”

For his part, the Minister of Works stated, “there are some long lead items and furniture which have been ordered and some change orders which are being designed so the contractors can complete their work.”

The school has been under construction since 2016 and is expected to welcome students in September 2023.
