Zonta Club of New Providence Welcomes New President

Bahamian Media News:

Assistant Commissioner of Police Janet McKenzie has been given the vote of confidence by her peers and was elected as the new President of Zonta Club of New Providence (ZCNP) for the 2024-2026 term. Expressing a commitment to leading with “integrity, transparency, and inclusivity”, Mrs McKenzie said ZCNP will continue to be “a force for positive change in our communities and beyond”. She intends to continue to promote solidarity amongst members, united in a commitment to “empowering women and advancing gender equality”.

“The work that we do as members of Zonta is crucial in creating a more equitable and just society for women around the world,” she said at her recent installation. “Together, we have the power to make a real and lasting impact on the lives of women and girls in our communities and beyond.”

Mrs McKenzie leads an impressive executive team which includes Vice President, Senator Jennifer Isaacs-Dotson; Secretary Gail Symonette; Assistant Secretary Janelle Cambridge; Treasurer Odessa Francis; and Board of Directors Neresa Banderlier, Natasha Cooper, Dorcas Cooper-Johnson, Sophia Walker and Marisa Mason-Smith.

Shortly after the induction, ZCNP President Mckenzie hit the ground running by attending the Zonta International Convention in Brisbane, Australia. She and a delegation of Zontians made meaningful contributions to a series of workshops designed to augment the work of Zonta International. Workshops covered much of the humanitarian work Zontians are engaged in across the globe, and provided opportunities for personal self development as well as club building exercises.
