Director of Education, Dominique McCartney-Russell told ZNS News the program is going very well.  She said, “they’re not just there to provide support in terms of protection.  They are providing preventative programs, mentoring programs, you know, they’re assisting students who are at risk for failure.”

The Director also revealed that there has been a decrease in school violence.  McCartney-Russell said, “the report is that it’s gone down by a good percent.”

The School Resource Officer Program was launched in 2022 and is carried out in collaboration with the Royal Bahamas Police Force.
