Traffic Mishap Claims Three Lives

Bahamian Media News:

Three brothers were killed after the vehicle they were in collided with a three on Milo Butler Highway early on Monday morning.  The three men have been identified as Philip D’Caprio Christie, Philip McCarron Christie and D’Angelo Christie.

The driver of the vehicle and the front seat passengers both died on the scene while the back seat passenger died in hospital.

Officer In Charge of the Royal Bahamas Police Force Traffic Division, Chief Superintendent Eugene Strachan informed ZNS News that this latest incident was the third traffic fatality that occurred over the weekend.

He said, “we’re seeing some interesting turn of events as it relates to persons navigating the streets. You know that we had a serious torrential downpour so the streets are still wet. In some areas the streets are still flooded.  I noted last night or early this morning that while we were investigating that accident persons were traveling southbound on Milo Butler Highway and they were making an excessive amount of speed.”

The Chief Superintendent advised motorists saying, “the roads are wet.  We want you to take your time to get to your destiny safely.”

A joint statement was released by Bahamas Power and Light (BPL) and the Bahamas Telecommunications Company (BTC) offering condolences to the two brothers by the name of Philip Christie.   One of the brothers was a Craftsman Apprentice at BPL and the other worked on the Service Delivery Team at BTC.
