Chief Superintendent Michael Johnson was placed on garden leave pending a investigation in July after voice notes were leaked on social media allegedly of Johnson in a conversation with Michael Fox Jr., now deceased, arranging to have charges against Fox squashed in exchange for money.

On Wednesday a document showing Johnson had been transferred from his post as head of the Criminal Investigations Department to the office of the Commissioner of Police made the rounds on social media.

Police Press Liaison Officer, Chief Superintendent Chrislyn Skippings spoke with ZNS News about the leaked document.  “The document further highlights Chief Superintendent Johnson transfer to the office of the Commissioner with effect from Monday July 8th, 2024.  The Commissioner of Police wishes to remind members of the public that the investigation into the voice notes are ongoing and that Chief Superintendent Johnson remains on garden leave and will remain until the conclusion of the investigation,” Skippings said.

Commissioner of Police, Clayton Fernander has said that the investigation into the voice notes should be completed by the end of this year.
