Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture, the Hon. Mario Bowleg appeared on The Rundown talk show hosted by Clint Watson this week where he spoke about the future of Junkanoo.

Bowleg said, “we want to be able to have museums and stuff that these costumes could be put on display.  If tourists go pay to go in a museum, if they pay $5 to enter and your costume in there maybe the museum take three but they give you a $1 for your costume per person coming in.  So these are the ideas we want to do.”

The Ministers comments about the possible future of Junkanoo comes as one the most popular Junkanoo groups, the Valley Boys, remains embroiled in internal disputes.
