Adelaide Primary School kicked off the festive season in spectacular style under the theme “Santa’s Little Helpers” during their Annual Christmas Carol Service. The event brought joy to students, parents, and guests alike, featuring spirited performances and special surprises.
Principal Rochelle Coakley expressed her gratitude and excitement for the celebration. “I am pleased to have the Lyford Cay Foundation sponsor our students and to once again welcome the Hon. Vaughn P. Miller, the Member of Parliament for the area, to celebrate with us,” she said.
The Lyford Cay Foundation, represented by Mrs. Janet Smith, Director of Member Relations at the Lyford Cay Club, played a key role in making the event memorable. “It is such a joy and privilege to be here at Adelaide Primary School to extend season’s greetings, gifts, and goodwill to the students,” Mrs. Smith shared, adding that her team has cherished this tradition for many years.
Member of Parliament for Golden Isles, Hon. Vaughn P. Miller, praised the efforts of the school’s staff and the enthusiasm of the students. “This is the only educational facility in my constituency, and today is all about the children, who are clearly having a wonderful time,” he said. The MP also expressed gratitude to the Lyford Cay Foundation for their continued support and applauded the school’s commitment to maintaining a positive and orderly environment.
The program featured delightful performances, including a humorous rhyme by preschoolers about Santa getting stuck in a chimney and a lively rendition of Jingle Bells by the third graders, complete with reindeer headpieces and dance moves. The highlight of the event was the appearance of Santa Claus, representing the Lyford Cay Foundation. He assured the students that they were all on the “Good List” and handed out gifts to each child.
Parents beamed with pride as they watched their children revel in the festivities. MP Miller closed the event by wishing everyone a safe and joyous holiday season, saying, “Merry Christmas to all and have a wonderful holiday.”
