Carmichael Road Traffic Fatality

A man riding a motorcycle lost his life in a traffic accident on Monday night.  The incident occurred on Carmichael Road at the entrance of the Super Value warehouse near the Sybil Strachan Primary School.

Second Officer in Charge of the Traffic Division of the Royal Bahamas Police Force,  Superintendent Kiran Jennings was on the scene where he provided details of the incident.  He said, “our information received is that a trailer was traveling west on Carmichael and it attempted to turn north into the warehouse when a cyclist who was also traveling in a westernly direction attempted to over take and collided into the truck.  Information also received is the person riding the cycle is a male who was taken to the Carmichael Road Police Station by private vehicle where EMS arrived and reported the rider had succumbed to injuries of this accident.”

Jennings said that the driver of the trailer works for Super Value and is cooperating with police.  He also informed at the time that there had been four traffic fatalities in the country, two in New Providence, one in Grand Bahama and one on the island of Bimini.
