Leader of the Free National Movement (FNM), the Hon. Michael Pintard expressed his believe that the government will call early elections on Monday.
Pintard pointed to the Davis administration’s numerous groundbreaking and contract signing events as proof. He said, “we believe that this is the set up, he narrative to convince the Bahamian people that they are extremely busy and that even thought these projects will not be completed by the time of the election they wish to sell the Bahamian people this dream that, listen, we are in the process of doing many things on your behalf therefore we deserve another shot.”
The Opposition Leader believes the next general election will be held in September of this year or earlier. “The direction that the government is presently taking really makes the case that we really need a fixed date for elections so that no man or woman is able to wake up one morning and determine that they are going to call election on a day of their choosing that’s convenient for whatever political games they may be playing.”
The last general elections was called early by then Prime Minister, the Most Hon. Dr. Hubert Minnis. It was held on September 16th, 2021.
