University of The Bahamas (UB) is pleased to announce the appointment of Vice President Human Resources Denise Barnes as Vice President, UB North. VP Barnes has assumed this role on an acting basis as of 1st May 2025 and will substantively hold this office as of 1st July 2025.
Based in Grand Bahama, Ms. Barnes will lead both portfolios as part of UB’s efforts to strengthen leadership, enhance institutional alignment and support sustainable growth
This dual appointment will build greater cohesion and operational alignment while fostering a stronger, more connected university community that values seamless collaboration, and shared goals. Ms. Barnes will work with colleagues at UB North on a unified institutional direction, ensuring consistent standards and engagement
As UB continues to rebuild and expand, UB North remains central to the University’s mission of providing equitable access to higher education across the nation.
