In a collaborative effort between the Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF), the Royal Bahamas Police Force (RBPF), the Bahamas Department of Immigration, and United States partners, a total of sixty-four (64) migrants were apprehended following a joint interdiction operation near Hole in the Wall Lighthouse, Abaco on Sunday 22 June 2025.
The arrest took place after aerial surveillance detected the vessel of interest in the area of South Abaco. The successful intercepted cabin cruiser-type motor vessel that had been under active surveillance for the past four (4) days. The apprehension was assisted by HMBS LIGNUM VITAE, under the command of Lieutenant Sanchez Davis and The RBDF Drone Team.
The migrants apprehended included fifty (50) males and fourteen (14) females
The migrants were initially transported to Marsh Harbour Bahamas Department of Immigration for preliminary processing and are now being transported by HMBS LIGNUM VITAE along with the captured craft to New Providence for further processing.
