Atlantis: Lower Summer Occupancy Rates?

Bahamian Media News:

Atlantis President, Audrey Oswell spoke with reporters this week about summer bookings and occupancy levels at the Paradise Island property.

She said, “occupancy for June, July and August is a little bit different from prior years. While occupancy for June is very high the rate the customers are paying for the rooms is down so that translates to lower overall revenue. July is still booking. It looks likes like its going to be similar. We have a much shorter booking window that we’ve experienced in the past. August is uncertain at this point.”

The Atlantis President highlighted the resilience of the resort when addressing any possible impact of the current hostilities between Israel and Iran. “We’re an agile organization. We’ve been around for many years, over 27 years. We’ve been there before during times of war, during times of financial crisis and other challenges. So we’re always poised to react quickly. We have not really seen an impact yet but I do believe that the slowdown in tourism is really to a lot of those world events,” she said.
