Commissioner of Police, Shanta Knowles is warning those responsible for the import of illegal guns, ammunition and marijuana seized in a joint operation on Friday that police are on their trail.
In a press event held on Monday Knowles displayed the contraband discovered in a vehicle carrying household goods. She said, “we just need the public to see and for those that we don’t have in custody to see that we gat your guns, we have your marijuana, we have your ammunition nd my team will now be coming to look for you.”
Some of the guns found were classified as ghost guns. The Commissioner explained, “ghost guns means that they do not have serial numbers. It makes it a little bit more difficult, not impossible, but difficult to trace. But we have been working with our US law enforcement counterparts and we were able to trace, over the many years, a number of firearms.”
Knowles also said police believe that the operation which yielded the discovery of the illegal items was a success.
