Prime Minister, the Hon. Philip Davis released a video message to commemorate the 52nd anniversary of independence on July 10th.

Mr. Davis reminded Bahamians that our freedom and sovereignty had to be fought for. He said, “now we have our own fights to change the status quo, to take on injustice, to make sure opportunity, security and dignity reach all Bahamians.”

The Prime Minister also spoke about the pride and strength of the Bahamian people. “Look at us now. Look at the talent bursting from every island, the brilliance in our classrooms, the fire in our athletes, the achievement and the ambitions in our young people. Bahamians are shining their bright light in science, in business, in medicine, in sports,” he said.

Mr. Davis said there is no storm, system or setback that can hold us back when we come together.
