60 Year Old Male In Police Custody Following Firearm And Ammunition Seizure

Police on the island of Grand Bahama held a press event where it was revealed that officers discovered firearms and ammunition in the home of a 60 year old man.

Northern Division Officer In Charge of Crime and Operations, Chief Superintendent Will Hart provided details of the find to reporters. He said, “upon checking the package it was discovered that it contained three firearms namely a Draco submachine gun and two pistols, also an assortment of ammunition for the three weapons totally 160 rounds of ammunition.”

According to police a man was taken into custody in connection with the firearms. Hart said, “there is a 60 year old male in police custody who is assisting us with the investigation.”

The Chief Superintendent also appealed to the public for information. “If you have any information of anyone who is responsible for the importation and possession of these firearms to contact the police immediately.”
