FNM Leader On The Rundown

Bahamian Media News:

Leader of the Free National Movement (FNM) and Leader of the Opposition, the Hon. Michael Pintard led a press event on Sunday where he revealed his party’s plan for immigration dubbed Operation SHIELD.

Pintard then appeared on The Rundown talk show on Monday where he discussed the FNM’s plans. He said, “on each island we need reserve immigration officers, the law already make provision for it, it has not been implemented. So the reservist unit ought to be established. We also need to make sure when law and order has been restored in Haiti to have in the office in Haiti a team, which is from Department of Labour, NIB, etc., that can assist in the vetting process so that before persons leave the country that they are in, if somebody has applied for them, we should vet them to see if they’ll suitable. We also need the government to carefully work with its international partners, Homeland Security, to ensure that if the US proceeds with the deportations that they are signaling that we have all of the relevant information on those persons who they propose to send to The Bahamas so that we can determine if what they have in mind and who they say ought to come to The Bahamas are in fact the correct persons.”
