Investigations have commenced into a shooting that occurring on East Street and Sunlight Cottage on Thursday afternoon. Two men were shot with one succumbing to his injuries on the scene, the other was transported to hospital for treatment. A female employee at the business establishment where the shooting happened was also injured.

Member of Parliament for the area, the Hon. Jomo Campbell expressed sadness at what happened but is hopeful that some of the programs they have put in place will assist at risk youth in the community.
