Members of the Bahamas Public Services Union (BPSU) staged a demonstration outside of the Office of the Prime Minister on Thursday.

Workers joined by BPSU President, Kimsley Ferguson spoke out against the government for their handling of the salary review process. Ferguson said, “we want the salary review done by Deloitte and Touche and we want the Cabinet paper that was submitted so that we can see exactly how the members that we represent were impacted. I expect senior government officials not to be twisting the truth for convenience and I expect the substantive minister of finance to arise to this occasion and address the outstanding concern.”

Minister of Labour and the Public Service, the Hon. Pia Glover-Rolle dismissed Ferguson’s comments as disingenuous.
