Heartbroken Family Wants Answers After Pre-Teen’s Death

Bahamian Media News:

The family of Montana Ferguson, 12, who lost his life in a house fire on the island of Abaco, are seeking answers about his death.

Ferguson was spending the night at the home where the fire occurred. His friend and sister made it out of the blaze alive. Ferguson’s aunt, Jacqueline Duncombe spoke with ZNS News. She said, “the mother of the house was not even home. It hurts because she’s supposed to be the protector of those kids.”

Duncombe continued saying, “we all are grieving right now and it’s hard for us to sleep, to eat. We need closure. We need to know exactly what transpired. How is it these two boys, supposed to be in the same room together, one of the boys get out and another didn’t.”

The victim’s aunt described him as a sweet boy who would give anyone the clothes off his back. “He would do anything for you. You ask him he would do it. He had this beautiful smile, such a peaceful humble spirit,” Duncombe said.

The owner of the home where the incident occurred is yet to get in touch with the family. Ferguson’s mother, Erica Ferguson was not allowed to view the body at the scene and has yet to identify the body of her son.
