Bahamas Department Of Corrections Celebrates Anniversary

Bahamian Media News:

The Bahamas Department of Correctional Services (BDOCS) celebrated its 73rd anniversary at a church service over the weekend.

Minister of National Security, the Hon. Wayne Munroe attended the service held at St. John’s Native Baptist Cathedral. During his remarks, Munroe praised the efforts of BDOCS officers. He said, “you’ve done us really proudly. You have presided over the recruitment of the most correctional officers for any period whatsoever and you’ve trained these young people and you’ve turned them out well on the parade ground. In Commissioner Cleare’s fashion I’d like to thank you for that.”

The minister continued saying, “this is an administration that have had no difficulties persuading to give you more recruitment, to give you the largest promotions ever, to give you Cook and Chill, to give you your new virtual court and corrections.”

Munroe said it was not a hard job to advocate on behalf of the facility.
