British Legion Bahamas Branch Chairperson, Adina Munroe-Charlow spoke with ZNS News about this year’s honouree, Dr. Meyer Rassin for whom Doctors Hospital used to be named.
She said, “the reason why we have him in front of Doctors Hospital this year is because of his military assignment to The Bahamas in 1942. He fell in love with The Bahamas and he returned in 1947 where he got his license to operate a small clinic and the clinic today is Doctors Hospital.”
Former Parliamentarian Neville Wisdom also attended the ceremonies. He told ZNS News that both of his parents served in World War II and were members of the British Legion.
Remembrance Day is held every year in memory of those who perished in World Wars 1 & 2.
