Aviation Dir: GB Airport Still Top Priority

Bahamian Media News:

Director of Aviation, Dr. Kenneth Romer provided an update on the development of the Grand Bahama International Airport (GBIA) on Thursday at a press briefing at the Office of the Prime Minister.

Dr. Romer said, “Grand Bahama remains high on the infrastructural development priority list. Personally, I am a major advocate for Grand Bahama because as we build airports and improve infrastructure, it’s going to increase the airlift and we already show that Grand Bahama had the highest year over year increase in airlift since 2019, and also the largest percentage in overall arrivals.”

The Aviation Director express confidence that work will begin shortly at GBIA. He said, “Grand Bahama is booming and bustling and the government, as communicated by both the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister, Grand Bahama is a priority. So I remain optimistic that Grand Bahama will see works beginning soon on the new terminal, the US pre-clearance and also airside remediation.”
