Following the Golden Isles by-election on November 24th there have been calls to ensure that the voter register is cleaned up from former Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. Hubert Ingraham.
Acting Prime Minister, the Hon. Chester Cooper was asked about the issue on Monday. He said, “I encourage Bahamians to register. Persons who have transferred, who have left constituencies and moved elsewhere need to transfer. Once they do their part we will be able to make those transfers on the register. So its the work that’s being done at the moment with the Parliamentary Registration Department. But they have no way of knowing that you left Golden Isles and moved to Centreville, for example. You must go in and cause that transfer to happen.”
