Press Release
The 52nd annual Bahamas Red Cross Ball returns to the social calendar on January 31, 2026, with The Bahamas Telecommunications Company (BTC) proudly serving once again as the event’s title sponsor. The highly anticipated event brings together corporate partners, community leaders, and supporters to raise vital funds for the humanitarian work of the Bahamas Red Cross.
The lead-up to the ball officially began on January 15th with the annual Platinum Reception held at Government House, honoring key sponsors and long-standing supporters of the organization. The reception highlighted the importance of continued partnership and recognized those who contribute to the Red Cross’s mission of service and community support.
On January 22nd, a press conference was also held at the Bahamas Red Cross headquarters to formally announce the event details and further emphasize the significance of community involvement at this year’s Red Cross Ball.
BTC CEO Sameer Bhatti expressed pride in supporting the organization, saying, “We are pleased to support this significant fundraiser, which allows the Red Cross to continue delivering vital care and assistance. At BTC, we recognize the importance of giving back and helping those in need, and we extend our gratitude to everyone who attended this year’s Ball in support of such a meaningful cause. I also applaud the Red Cross Ball organizers for their outstanding contributions to the community and for hosting another exceptional and memorable event.”
BTC has maintained a strong partnership with the Bahamas Red Cross over the years, supporting several initiatives including the Meals on Wheels program and national relief efforts. During the COVID-19 pandemic, BTC team members assisted with packaging and distributing food parcels to communities across the country.
Red Cross Ball Chair Kimberly Thurston extended thanks to BTC for its continued partnership and shared her excitement for the event. “We are delighted to have BTC’s support once again as we prepare for the 52nd annual Bahamas Red Cross Ball,” she said. “Under the patronage of Her Excellency, the Most Honourable Dame Cynthia Pratt, we anticipate a sophisticated evening of fine entertainment and fellowship.”
This year, former Minister Dionisio D’Aguilar and his wife, along with the BahaMar Resort will be honoured for their philanthropic efforts in assisting the Bahamas Red Cross.
This year’s ball, themed “Midnight & Moonlight: A Night in Silhouette,” will be hosted at the Atlantis Resort. Organizers anticipate an elegant evening of entertainment and philanthropy, with more than 600 guests expected to attend in support of this worthy cause.
