Young men of Simpson Penn Centre for Boys participated in a Garden of Resilience Graduation Ceremony — a BAMSI Certified Gardening Programme — supported by the government, community partners, and BAIC, Wednesday morning, February 11, 2026 at the centre.
Minister of Social Services, Information and Broadcasting, the Hon. Myles LaRoda said he was pleased to recognize the accomplishments of several of the centre’s residents as well as the unwavering support of the Ministry of Social Services, Information and Broadcasting the local NGO (the Parenting and Crime Group), the Ministry of National Security, Office of the Spouse of the Prime Minister, BAIC, BAMSI, and the Gang and Justice Task Force.
His ministry welcomed the opportunity to participate in such a programme for positive impact, and he said: “This Garden of Resilience is aptly named and will continue to stand as a thriving testament of what is possible when we seek to reform by fostering an environment that is disciplined, provides skills training in a critical area like food security, and strengthens relationship bonds through family involvement.”
He thanked the partners, and the Superintendent of the Simpson Penn Centre, Mr. Basil Johnson and his team for providing consistent support and guidance to the residents.
