Prime Minister and Minister of Finance the Hon. Philip Davis said, on March 26, 2026, that the opening of the United Estates Community Clinic was “a very good day for the great people of San Salvador”.

“It is an investment into the health and wellbeing of this community and a commitment to ensuring accessible healthcare reaches every part of our country,” he said.

Spanning nearly 3,000 square feet, Prime Minister Davis pointed out that it had been designed to meet the needs of that community – not for show, but for function.

He noted that it had a pharmacy on site, so that treatment did not have to wait; a phlebotomy room, so that testing did not become “a separate journey”; and with proper spaces for trauma, so that care became more responsive and efficient.

Prime Minister added that it mattered because, in healthcare, time was the difference between complication and recovery.   He pointed out that the clinic ensured that essential services were no longer out of reach, but available right there in the community.

“That is our commitment because access matters,” Prime Minister Davis said.

He added:  “Where you live should never determine the quality of care you receive.  For too long, families on our Family Islands have had to navigate distance and limited service when time was of the essence.

“Today, we take another step toward changing that reality and closing that gap.”
