Minister of Finance and Governor of the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) to The Bahamas the Hon. Michael Halkitis hosted a “Cultural Expression” showcase, on June 4, 2026, on the Occasion of the 56th Annual Meeting of the Caribbean Development Bank. Among those present were Minister of Culture, Arts, and Heritage the Hon. Leslia Brice; CDB President Daniel M. Best; and Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines the Hon. Godwin Friday. Originally slated for the Moat at Fort Charlotte, Ivory Global Management, Ltd., led by Managing Director L. Roscoe Dames II, transformed the event site at the Andre Rodgers Baseball Stadium into a celebration of Bahamian culture through music, dance, heritage and the culinary and visual arts.
The evening began with an AMMC Reenactment of a drilling display that could have taken place on a Bahamian fort. That was followed by crowd-pleasing and lively performances by Da Pond Band, Geno D, and Fanshawn. Bahamian dancers from D’Dasa Productions showcased their talents; and Bahamian visual artist Preston Hanna created a special keepsake of his “JunkJunkJunkanoo” (2026). He created the piece on 42 5×7-inch canvases, and each Governor received a section to carry back to their country. Manuelo’s and its Executive Chef Emmanuel “Manny” Gibson catered the event with health-conscious and Bahamian-inspired favourites, and Wildfire Entertainment closed out the evening with a lively Junkanoo Rush.
