Hands for Hunger goes beyond filling cupboards and feeding those in need by working to create pathways toward greater independence and stability for the communities they serve.
The non-profit’s work is grounded in the belief that lasting change comes from helping people access the support, knowledge, and opportunities needed to build stronger futures. Through programmes and partnerships, Hands for Hunger continues to focus not only on relief, but on restoring dignity, creating opportunity, and helping individuals and families move forward.
Recognizing the importance of this work, CIBC Caribbean has donated $5,000 to support the organization’s continued efforts to address the root causes of food insecurity through empowerment and sustainable solutions.
CIBC Caribbean Country Head, Terrance Gibson, said the bank’s support reflects a shared belief that meaningful community investment should create lasting impact.
“At CIBC Caribbean, we believe that strong communities are built when people are given the opportunity not just to overcome immediate challenges, but to thrive beyond them. Hands for Hunger’s approach speaks to that philosophy by focusing on empowerment alongside support.
We are proud to contribute to work that helps individuals and families regain stability and strengthen their circumstances.”
Hands for Hunger Executive Director, Keisha Ellis, said partnerships that align with the organization’s vision are critical to creating deeper and more sustainable change.
“We have always believed that addressing hunger requires understanding the circumstances that bring people to that point. Through education, connection to resources, and community support, we aim to create opportunities that help people build resilience and move toward long-term well- being. Contributions like this from CIBC Caribbean allow us to continue expanding that impact and reaching more people in meaningful ways.”
The donation forms part of CIBC Caribbean’s continued commitment to supporting initiatives that strengthen communities and create opportunities for lasting social impact. By investing in organizations that combine compassion with long-term solutions, the bank continues to support efforts that help create healthier and more resilient communities across The Bahamas.
