Tourism Minister On GB Structural Change

Minister of Tourism and Member of Parliament for Englerston, the Hon. Glenys Hanna Martin addressed the Grand Bahama Women’s Branch of the Progressive Liberal Party on Sunday. She spoke about the efforts being made by the Party to revive the island’s economy.

Hanna Martin told attendees, “the bold moves by the PM touch at the heart of the structural inequities in Grand Bahama. The Grand Bahama Port Authority, the Grand Bahama Power Company and more as we seek to integrate Grand Bahama fully into the wider Bahama network. Grand Bahama was and is a jewel and as we accelerate efforts to redevelop the airport, to develop the former Our Lucaya property and seek to procure enhanced island wide impact of the cruise industry.”

The tourism minister also stated her intention to pool the intellectual in the industry to improve the tourism product. She said, “this is an issue which shows up consistently in our exit surveys with tourists. They talk about the product, disappointed. I had the occasion to asset in Parliament recently, the product is us, our people, our history, our food, our music, our rhythms on the dance floors.”

Minister for Grand Bahama and Member of Parliament for Pineridge, the Hon. Ginger Moxey was also in attendance.
