Governor General, Her Excellency the Most Hon. Dame Cynthia A. Pratt and members of her staff celebrated National Flag Day on the grounds of Government House on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.  They were joined by nearby RF Bank and Trust and Graycliff Restaurant representatives.

National Flag Day is celebrated throughout the archipelago as a major event in the leadup to Bahamas Independence Anniversary (July 10) celebrations.  

The Office of the Governor General’s Permanent Secretary Jack Thompson was master of ceremonies for this 53rd anniversary commemoration.  Mrs. Cheryl Brown made the Flag Day Ceremony commitment statement.  And the National Anthem was sung by Vanessa Clarke of RF Bank and Trust.
