Four graduates of the Upskill Bahamas Programme received iPads for successfully completing their courses.  The presentation was made at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology on Tuesday July 21, 2026.

The programme, launched in November 2025, is a national digital learning initiative providing free online courses and professional certifications for Bahamian citizens aged 16 and older. It is a national learning initiative by the Ministry of Education and offers over 40 self-paced courses.

Ashley Robinson (Web Development & Creative Coding by 4Geeks); Jonae Brown (Business Communication by Rochester Institute of Technology); Raven Jones (Nail Technician Course by Elizabeth Sands Beauty School); and Kendal Pratt (Business Finance by New Skills Academy).  Representatives collected the iPads on behalf of most of the graduates.

Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Sen. the Hon. Keenan Johnson told the recipients they did an excellent job balancing full-time jobs and completing the programme.

He added that learning is a lifelong process and that the graduates represent individuals who continue to upgrade their skills to better provide for their families or to pivot toward another career.

Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Neil Campbell; Director of Education, Dominique McCartney-Russell; Priority Manager, Office of the Prime Minister, Torree Musgrove; and Deputy Director of Education, Sharmaine Sinclair were also in attendance.
