Staff of the Office of the Judiciary, honoured for long service

Over 60 persons representing the staff of the Office of the Judiciary were honored on Friday, July 31, 2026 at Government House for long-standing service of up to over 40 years.  Presenting awards and plaques were Her Excellency, the Most Hon. Dame Cynthia A. Pratt, Governor General; the Hon. Sir Ian Winder, Chief Justice, Supreme Court of The Bahamas; and the Hon. Mr. Justice Milton Evans, President of the Court of Appeal. The awards were given in categories of the number of years served. 

In his speech, Chief Justice Sir Ian Winder lauded the awardees on their hard work and dedication in the day-to-day functions of the Judiciary Office, noting that they are the true backbone of how the courts of The Bahamas operate.  Justice Milton Evans in closing said he is grateful for the work ethic of the persons being honoured.
