Prime Minister, the Hon. Philip Davis attended a lightning ceremony in downtown Nassau over the weekend in recognition of Autism Awareness Month.
At the ceremony Prime Minister Davis told attendees, “my government has passed a new mental health bill which is intended to transform and modernize the manner is which people with mental and emotional disabilities are treated. As we work together to bring greater public awareness to autism, support more research and development to assist in formulating informed public policy and institutional programs and processes to better address autism. Let it be know around The Bahamas and indeed the world from the highest level in government that its okay to be a little different.”
The buildings in Parliament Square will be lit in blue for the month of April.
