Bahamas Attends Seatrade Global Cruise Conference

Bahamian Media News:

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investments and Aviation, the Hon. Chester Cooper led a delegation to Florida to attend the Seatrade Cruise Global Conference.

Cooper spoke with reporters on the sidelines of the conference outlining some of the expected outcomes, “what Parliamentary Secretary John Pinder is determined to do is to create multi destination within The Bahamas. So Freeport, Nassau, Bimini and one of the private islands. So that’s the conversations this week. We’re talking really about the future of cruising. The Bahamas has been instrumental in terms of reopening the cruise industry after COVID. We harboured many ships in our waters during the COVID period. We have a very strong ship registry for cruise lines and other vessels so we’re partnering this week with Bahamas Maritime Authority as well working closely with them to create synergies.”

Other members of the delegation include Director of Investments Phylicia Woods-Hanna and Parlimentary Secretary in the Minister of Tourism, Investments and Aviation and Member of Parliament for South and Central Abaco, the Hon. John Pinder.
