CARIFTA Athletes Highlighted In HOA

Bahamian Media News:

The Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture highlighted the Bahamian athletes who participated in the 2023 CARIFTA Games held in the capital over the Easter weekend in the House of Assembly on Wednesday.

The Hon. Mario Bowleg told Parliamentarians, “The Bahamas is the host of the CARIFTA Swimming next year and will be looking to secure its sixth consecutive championship title. I encourage the entire country to come out and support and when our track and field team return from Grenada next year they will be welcomed home in the same grand style. Madam Speaker, Bahamians every where are still bragging about the three day of track and field hosted here at home in the Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium. It was a joyous occasion to witness the celebratory moments and the happiness of Bahamian people coming together as one united in love and service to support our nation’s youth who all have represented us well and made us all proud. Madam, Speaker with the 2023 being the 50th anniversary of Bahamian independence and the 50th edition of the CARIFTA Track and Field Championships I must congratulate our young athletes who performed admirably.” .
