President of the Abaco Chamber of Commerce, Chantelle Sands recently shared her hopes for the upcoming budget.

Sands said, “I’d certainly like to see more public-private partnerships coming to the island. In the space of health care we know we have a nice size facility on the island in Marsh Harbour but we still have too many airlifts of persons being injured coming to Nassau because we don’t have sufficient doctors, nurses, resources in the hospital. And so the idea of having a private facility partner with government to improve the hospital and the healthcare on the island would be good. We’re also hoping to have investors who would come to the island and support in developing housing.”

The budget communication will be delivered by Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, the Hon. Philip Davis in the House of Assembly on May 28th.
