Sister of Shawn Ferguson, whose body was found dismembered on the island of Acklins, recently spoke with ZNS News about how her family is coping.

Gina Ferguson-Rolle shared her take about her brother’s two son being questioned about his killing. She said, “it’s so confusing and you just don’t understand. I don’t even understand how we got there. You know, they are very mannerly, they’re very helpful, they’ve helped so well in the various businesses that we have. And they had such a good relationship with their dad. I just don’t even understand what happened. All I can say is something went wrong. We really have to pay more attention. We get so busy now we’re not paying attention and we need to listen to the signs.”

The victims parents are founders of the Victory Baptist Church and that her mother is hold on to her faith in the wake of the tragedy in their family.

Ferguson-Rolle expressed gratitude to family and friends saying, “we’re still a good community. We’re still a good country Bahamas. Let’s have each other’s backs. Let’s encourage each other especially in times like these.”
