Airports Conference of the Americas Closes with Tour of LPIA

he Bahamas, through the Ministry of Tourism, Investments and Aviation for the first time hosted the Airports Conference of the Americas, at Baha Mar Convention Centre, August 4-7, 2024.

The conference concluded on Wednesday with a tour of the Lynden Pindling International Airport, conducted by officials of the Department of Aviation, Nassau Airport Development Company (NAD), and the Airport Authority.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investments and Aviation the Hon. Chester Cooper delivered a conference keynote address on Monday, August 5, 2024.  He committed The Bahamas to becoming a regional leader in aviation and air transport services, while accepting the knowledge exchange and best practices from the 25 countries represented.

Delegates represented The Bahamas, U.S., Canada, Mexico, Panama, Jamaica, Peru, Brazil, Antigua and Barbuda, St. Lucia, Turks and Caicos Islands, Barbados, Curacao, Cayman Islands, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Anguilla, Martinique, Trinidad and Tobago, Aruba, Bonaire, Costa Rica, Haiti, St. Maarten, and Ecuador.

This prestigious conference was presented by the American Association of Airport Executives, the South Central Chapter AAAE, and the International Association of Airport Executives — in collaboration with the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration and the International Civil Aviation Organization.
