The Airports of the Americas Conference is taking place in the capital this week at the Baha Mar Resort. Director of Aviation, Dr. Kenneth Romer spoke to members of the media about the benefits The Bahamas was see from hosting the meeting.

He said, “there is gonna be a significant return on our investment. You’ll find out the many of the airlines or airports are actually gonna be offering incentives for us to bring new airlift from their airports to The Bahamas.”

Former Atlanta Airport Executive, Balram Bheodari spoke about the importance of the conference. “This is very, very important to bring top airport officials together to share best practices and do a knowledge transfer so each one of us in each country could better the aviation system because aviation for a country, as we know, is the front gate or the front door for economy prosperity.”

The conference is expected to end on Wednesday, August 7th.
