Bahamas Business & Investment Forum In New York

Bahamian Media News:

The Bahamas will host the 2nd annual Business and Investment Forum in New York City this week. The event is being organized by the Bahamas embassy in Washington D. C.

Bahamas Ambassador to the United States, His Excellency Wendall Jones told ZNS News that topics such as real estate development, public-private partnerships and financial services sector will be discussed at the event. He said, “we have invited a number of business leaders in The Bahamas along with other members of the government to come to New York to meet and to talk about our wonderful country.”

According to the Ambassador interest in the forum is encouraging. “We’ve done a very good job, I think, in advertising this forum and quite a number of investors or potential investors, people int he financial services sector, businessmen in the United States from a number of states have registered already to participate in the forum. And so we expect in excess of two hundred or so potential investors to be attending this forum,” he said.

Jones says interest in The Bahamas is high right now on the heels of the heads of agreement signing for the redevelopment of the Grand Lucayan Hotel. He believe the climate exists for foreign direct investment.
