Bahamas Heart Association Successfully Launches Heart Month with Health and Wellness Fest

Bahamian Media News:

The Bahamas Heart Association officially launched Heart Month with its first signature event, the Health and Wellness Fest, held on Saturday, February 7, at the University of The Bahamas.

The free community event drew residents from across New Providence for a morning dedicated to
prevention, education, and healthy living. Attendees had access to a wide range of complimentary health services and wellness resources aimed at promoting early detection and proactive care.

Free HIV testing was provided by the Bahamas HIV & AIDS Centre, while Executive Healthcare Concierge
Services offered on-site health screenings, including blood pressure and blood glucose testing.
Participants also engaged with wellness vendors who reinforced the importance of preventive healthcare and healthy lifestyle choices.

“The Health and Wellness Fest marked a strong and impactful start to Heart Month,” said Letisha Paul,
President of The Bahamas Heart Association. “We are grateful to our partners and healthcare professionals whose support helped make essential health services accessible to the community.”
Christon Deveaux, Founder and Medical Director of Executive Healthcare Concierge Services, underscored the importance of collaboration, noting that “this partnership was both important and necessary to highlight the sensitivity surrounding heart health and heart disease.”

The event was hosted in collaboration with the University of The Bahamas and supported by dedicated
partners committed to improving public health outcomes throughout The Bahamas. The Bahamas Heart Association extends sincere thanks to all attendees, partners, volunteers, and service providers who contributed to the success of the Health and Wellness Fest. Heart Month activities will continue throughout February as the Association advances its mission to raise awareness about
cardiovascular health and disease prevention.
