Bahamas National Chess Championship 2025 – January 17th-26th 2025

The Bahamas Chess Federation is thrilled to announce the return of the highly anticipated Bahamas National Chess Championship 2025. This FIDE-rated Round-Robin tournament will take place over six days, from Friday, January 17th to Sunday, January 26th, 2025, at Noble Preparatory Academy. Players will compete in nine rounds throughout the event.

The tournament will showcase ten of the best chess players in The Bahamas, all vying for the prestigious Bahamas National Chess Champion 2025 title. The competition will include 2024 National Champion Avian Pride, Dr. Kenville Lockhart, Barrington Hawkins,  FM Cecil Moncur, Sohan Umesh, Curtis Pride Jr., NM Valentine Cox, WCM Chika Pride, Francis Skinner, and James Trotman.

“As president of the Bahamas Chess Federation, it is truly an honor to witness such a prestigious tournament, which has been hosted annually for over 50 years. All of the competitors have proven themselves worthy of the title, but only one can emerge as the champion. I extend my best wishes to all players – may they play their best games. The Chief Arbiter for the event is IA Andre White, and FA Angel Pride will serve as the Deputy Chief Arbiter. The tournament will be streamed live via DGT chess boards, allowing chess fans to follow the action as it unfolds.

Round 5: Sunday, January 19th @3:00 p.m.

Round 6: Friday, January 24th @6:00 p.m.

Round 7: Saturday, January 25th @9:00 a.m.

Round 8: Saturday, January 25th @3:00 p.m.

Round 9: Sunday, January 26th @9:00 a.m.

Closing Ceremony: Sunday, January 26th @4:00 p.m.
