Bahamas Waste is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Disa Campbell as the company’s new Managing Director.
Ms. Campbell is no stranger to Bahamas Waste, having served as Chief Financial Officer from 2003 to 2019. After leaving The Bahamas to pursue new career opportunities in the United States, she continued to build an impressive professional portfolio. She first joined the City of West Palm Beach Community Redevelopment Agency as its Fiscal Services Manager before being recruited to Washington, D.C., where she worked with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority as Manager of Financial Control, strengthening her expertise in financial management, operations, and large-scale organisational leadership.
Disa’s extensive experience, combined with her deep knowledge of the Bahamas Waste team and long-standing familiarity with company operations and culture, made her the ideal choice to assume the role of Managing Director.
“We are very pleased to have Disa returning to work with us,” noted Phillip Andrews, Chairman of the Board. “We are also proud to have a female at the helm as we step into a new year with a strong plan to grow our business and strengthen our presence in sanitation services.”
The Bahamas Waste Board also extends sincere appreciation to Ms. Jasmine Davis, who admirably served as both Interim Managing Director and continued her duties as Chief Financial Officer during this transition period.
Ms Campbell, who will start her new role on January 2nd of the new year, expressed her enthusiasm about rejoining the company and returning home, ” I am grateful for the opportunity and excited to return to Bahamas Waste Limited, which, for 16 years, had been an integral part of my professional journey. It feels like coming home, and I look forward to reconnecting with the team, contributing my experience and supporting the continued growth of the company.”
Bahamas Waste welcomes Ms. Campbell back to the organisation and looks forward to a dynamic new chapter under her leadership.
