The Parliamentary Registration Department has begun issuing biometric voters cards ahead of the next general election. Currently, cards are available for residents of the Killarney, St. James and Carmichael constituencies.

Parliamentary Commissioner, Harrison Thompson said the initiative is a push to modernize the electoral process. He said, “we started the process here at the headquarters on Saturday and we shifted to Kendal Isaacs Gym for the rest of this week and beyond. This is the first phase of the issuing of these cards and we hope that we’ll be able to inform the public very soon as to when the other constituencies will be called in to collected their cards.”

Prime Minister, the Hon. Philip Davis and Mrs. Davis, residents in Killarney, verified on Monday for their new voters cards.
