The body of a man believed to be in his twenties was found in waters near the old Stuart’s Cove in western New Providence on Thursday.
Assistant Commissioner of Police, Roberto Goodman briefed members of the media on the scene. He said, “sometime around 4:25pm, today’s date, police would have received a report from police control room reference a body being submerged in this location at the southern area of the old Stuart’s Cove. As a result of the information they would have received they contacted the marine support unit along with officers from the western station who came to this area. On arrival at this area officers would have observed an adult male submerged in waters near to an abandoned building. EMS was also contacted, along with those officers and EMS they was able to retrieve this body from the waters where officers noticed on this body that it had multiple, what appeared to be, stab wounds about the body. Also that this body was also bound by the hands and feet.”
Goodman also appealed for information saying, “we’re actively investigating this matter at this particular time and we ask that anyone who could assist us at this time that they could call us at CID at 502-9911, at 502-9975.”
This discovery has increased the amount of murders in 2024 to 81.
