Two men were shot at a party held in Bozine Town off Tonique Williams-Darling Highway over the weekend. One of the men died as a result of his injuries and the other was shot in the leg.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Kenwood Taylor was on the scene of the incident where he briefed reporters. He said, “upon our arrival they would have noticed a victim who was on scene. EMS was contacted, they came to the scene, they checked the victim and he was pronounced dead. We were also informed that a second victim was taken to the Princess Margaret Hospital. Checks on him reveal that he was shot to the leg and he is in stable condition.”
Taylor added, “what we have noticed in this area there’s heavy surveillance and my tech team they’re gonna be checking all of that out and we hope to bring this to a conclusion very soon.”
Officer In Charge of the South Western Division, Tess Newbold was also on the scene she said that she intends to follow through in the community with walkabouts in partnership with Urban Renewal officers. “We also have increased patrols within this area to see if we can gather more information from the persons with in the community.”
This latest killing takes the murder count in the country to 83 since the start of this year.
