The 50th CARIFTA Track and Field Games took place in the capital over the Easter holiday weekend. The event was officially opened on Good Friday by Prime Minister, the Hon. Philip Davis at an opening ceremony held at the Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium, the same venue as the other events to follow. Twenty eight Caribbean countries took part in the track and field championships which was held in The Bahamas for the 9th time in its fifty year history.
