Power was restored to most areas of Central Andros around 10:00pm on Sunday after the power plant in Fresh Creek was damaged by fire earlier that day.

She said, “however the team worked all day yesterday to restore power up as far as Cargill Creek. Residents of Bering Point did sleep off last night but the team is on the ground again this morning working to improve the voltage because we’re supplying the entire island now from the Nicholls Town power station.”
According to be Minister Coleby-Davis BPL sourced rental generation units as a result of the fire that were scheduled to arrive on site by Tuesday. She said, “that will assist us in continuing to provide the power, the demand that is from the island but also to ensure we give that reliability that our consumers deserve and need.”
